Dana Samuel is a Hamilton-born artist and writer currently based in Toronto Ontario. In 2003, she received her MFA in Studio Art from the University of Western Ontario, after studying Biochemistry at McMaster University and Sculpture/Installation at the Ontario College of Art & Design. Her emerging art career has led her to galleries and festivals across Canada, and in 2005, she was the first Canadian artist invited to the prestigious International Independent Studio Program at the Office for Contemporary Art Norway. She has received grants and awards from the Toronto Arts Council, the Ontario Arts Council, the Canada Council for the Arts and the Toronto Jewish Arts Council.
